Subscriptions aren’t for everyone. I get annoyed by the sheer number of them that I forget to turn off, and it makes it hard to support my favorite creators in a way I can afford.
To make matters more complicated, many of the platforms that set podcasters up to accept subscriptions will not give any non-subscription options for support, and worse, they charge large fees so that only a portion of your money gets to your favorite creators.
